- Background & Solution -

- How it works? -

Owing to its strong elasticity, the golden capsule can easily reach full-drip speed,
which is often required in emergency situations.

Here are 2 simple steps to start Golden Capsule.

There are two kinds of Golden Capsules: Glucose, and Normal saline.
In many cases two are prescribed together.

- User Scenes -

Like these user scenes, the golden capsule can be fixed to a stretcher or carried by a rescue team.

it can optimise work efficiency for rescuers, because it can be easily fixed to the belt of a stretcher.

- Prototyping -

We made a prototype model using acrylic CNC processing and 3D printing method.
In actual production, it will be made of polycarbonate material for a reasonable price.

- Lo-fi Test -

We confirmed the feasibility of Golden Capsules through lo-fi test.
We can quickly inject fluids or completely stop through a method using balloon and air pressure differences,
and even control the speed as desired.

- Experiments -

The performance of the golden capsule was accurately measured
using a more advanced experimental model.

Experimental proofs:

1. Can be operated for more than 30 minutes

2. Uniform injection speed across all sections
(meets the standard for uniformity of medication injection devices specified by the medical community)

3. Faster than traditional methods using IVs
(often required in emergency situations)

4. Speed adjustable

This video shows a linear change in the rate of infusion as the amount of air entering the shell is controlled.
The faster the speed was set, the faster the water was leaking out.

- Feedback from Medical Experts -

We interviewed medical experts with experience in dispatching to rescue sites.

Interview with doctor Choi Seok Jae at Hwahong Hospital

We presented this project in front of Doctors Without Borders, nurses with 10 years of experience, patent attorneys specializing in design engineering, internal medicine specialists, emergency medicine specialists, mechanical engineering professors, and design professors, and got good feedback.
